Pushing Forward

Nine Division I teams changed head coaches over the offseason, but none of them did it like [[St. Lawrence]] did.
Just weeks before the start of the season, St. Lawrence coach Joe Marsh, the man behind the Saints bench for 26 seasons, took an indefinite leave of absence for medical reasons.
Last season, Marsh missed two separate periods of time for medical reasons as well, battling an esophageal …

New UAH President Was Key to Program’s Reversal of Fortunes

When University of Alabama chancellor Malcolm Portera hand picked Robert Altenkirch to succeed him as president of Alabama-Huntsville, there was no reason to believe Portera's October decision to kill Huntsville's Division I hockey program could be reversed.
What many didn't know was Altenkirch's background in hockey-related activities, and in hockey-related communities.
Altenkirch …

Devils Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

There are many wild things that take place during the course of a long hockey season. It’s not often, though, that you see so many of them in the same game.

The Devils had such a game Thursday night in Newark. They rallied from being down 3-0, had a goal wiped out, scored two straight short-handed goals, had a successful video review from Toronto, led 4-3 only to be tied with five seconds left in regulation on what was a shorthanded goal because Ottawa, down a man, pulled the goalie to make it 5-on-5… and then played some overtime time both 5-on-4 and 5-on-5 because of the penalty situation.

Oh, and they pulled Martin Brodeur after the first period, the second time in his last three starts he didn’t last more than 20 minutes.
